In 1991 Sparnex pioneered DSL transmission technology with the launch of a pre-ETSI HDSL transmission system based on its own proprietary chip design.

In 1994 Sparnex aligned its design and products on the standards set for DSL in Europe. Anticipating the testing issues and problems that would surround DSL deployment. Sparnex ventured out into the Test & Measurement market. Today, the company develops advanced, high-end installation, performance and compliance test solutions that have become the reference in this sector.

1998 has been a key year in the company’s history with the move to a new head office, the raising of additional growth capital through a private placement and a considerable increase in human resources. 1998 also saw an impressive growth of the Test & Measurement range - both through new product development and acquisition - as well as the launch of the second generation of SDSL transmission solutions.

In 2002  the focus on DSL Test & Measurement has lead to the launch of the new physical layer simulator platform LSX 2025.x.   Covering ITU, ETSI, ANSI, DSL-Forum standards according European, American and Japanese networks.

Today, the company has a staff of 35 engineers specialised in physical layer aspects. With head office in Antwerp (Belgium) Sparnex now has Offices in Wülfershausen (Germany) and Singapore; an R&D facility in Bulgaria and a Development and Manufacturing unit in Germany.

Sparnex invests annually 17% of Turnover in R&D.
