ITU-T and related standardization bodies have defined the new generation of DSL and how it should be tested. Test systems that are used to check the compliance of the DSL technology to these standards will have to meet accurately and consistently all specifications as defined in the appropriate standards for SHDSL, ADSL, VDSL, ADSL 2plus and VDSL 2. For that purpose Sparnex has added an ultra sensitive and high-end Compliance Verification measuring system that permits the user to probe the laboratory test equipment and environment on its capability to run DSL compliance tests. Test engineers in charge of compliance testing use ICXACT to check in seconds if the physical layer test setup in their laboratory meets the specifications of the standards. With the Laboratory Audit Report generator the test engineer can confirm that the DSL lab is according to the Standard Recommendations thus eliminating the re-testing of inaccurate compliance tests.

HIGH END TESTER FOR CALIBRATION, VERIFICATION AND CHARACTERISATION

The ICXACT is an xDSL physical layer precision probe and reference bank for characterization and signal analysis in the frequency band from DC up to 30 MHz with an unmatched accuracy better than 0,2 dB in a noise environment
up to –160 dBm/Hz.

MEASURES, INTERPRETS AND COMPARES COMPLIANCE OF TESTSYSTEMS

The ICXACT combines the measuring of test equipment with the ability to compare instantly the measured results with the appropriate DSL standards G.99x.x which are stored in the memory of the ICXACT. As such the test engineer can immediately verify on screen if the DSL measuring setup in his laboratory is within the expected tolerances. Tolerance levels can be programmed in the ICXACT according in-house defined tolerances, or according the applicable DSL Standard tolerance as defined in MAE/ME formulas.

ICXACT WILL VERIFY IF THE LABORATORY TEST SYSTEM IS A POSSIBLE SOURCE FOR NON-COMPLIANCE.

In a today’s digital world we might forget that the physical layer is the analog part that is influencing all layers above. The variance and impact of all physical layer parameters is a complex matter that needs competent people to measure and to interpret the results. The ICXACT makes this job easy and self-explanatory.
